Abraço begins with a gesture. A long mass of wood wraps around the oval mirror and stops short of forming a circle. The opening is the point where the curve breaks off.


The frame is in solid Jequitibá Rosa, of thick section and rounded profile, and covers the entire contour of the mirror. The form was CNC-machined in two parts, joined with glue and press, and then hand-sculpted and finished. The natural oil and wax finish preserves the tactile reading of the wood. The grain of the Jequitibá Rosa follows the curve and changes direction along the arc, revealing the block at every point of the frame.


Hand-worked in natural wood, each unit carries variations in colour, density and shape. Made to order at DONÓ's atelier. Comes with an installation template, instruction manual and certificate of authenticity.
