It is built entirely in wood, except for the centre of the backrest. A pointed-arch opening pierces the piece and receives amber castor bean resin, encapsulated between two panels of ebonised Jequitibá Rosa. The resin preserves microbubbles and small variations from the curing of the material. When lit, it alters the reading of the void it occupies.


The asymmetric backrest was hand-designed. Seat, legs and backrest are joined by hand-executed joints, made visible by exposed stainless steel pins. The natural oil and wax finish preserves the tactile reading of the wood beneath the ebony black.
